“One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple.” If I met Jack Kerouac, I’m almost positive we’d get along since he loves the simplicity of travel and not having a plan, based on his novel of Into the Wild. These photos were taken by the Seine riverbank in France 2 days ago and this couple was so cute my heart wanted to explode with joy. Clearly lost in Paris [not the worst thing ever :)], they just went with it; that’s the beauty of a brand new place, you have this innate urgency to just want to walk and see everything around you. I left Europe wanting to explore more, and yet I can’t seem to find the right words to describe how incredible I felt being there. The day my sister arrived in London she said to me, “you look so at home here“…

A room with a view

Landed in London, England today and I can’t believe I’m finally here, feels like I stepped into a dream or something. Europe was undoubtedly worth the wait, and it’s only the first day.

“Life is like a camera lens. Focus only on what’s important and you will capture it perfectly”

A little piece of L.A.

Meet Enma, she gave me my first hair wrap this past weekend at Venice Beach. As a souvenir from one of my favorite places to take friends in Los Angeles, spending the entire day in the 75 degree heat, relaxing on the beach, meeting a few new friends, renting bikes to the Santa Monica pier, eating amazing Italian desserts, and laughing the entire day (what we do best) was the perfect weekend to end my year before finals. I’m so thankful for all the friends I’ve met this past year, all the new accomplishments I’ve been able to make, and I’m still in shock it went by so quickly…

Challenge accepted

I had fun presenting research at my first Psi Chi conference this Saturday morning! UCLA had nothing on us and I couldn’t be more proud of this dream team. One of those things that makes you realize how far you’ve come for sure.

Love letters

I remember when one of my psychology professors told the class that when you analyze relationships too much, it sucks out all the fun out of them. The irony of this from a cognitive psychologist reassured me of what I want to implement in my relationships. Sometimes we think too much about things instead of enjoying them just how they are. I know now that life is better with a little mystery—it keeps you on your feet. :)

However when it comes to letters of love, the more thought the better. I received this postcard from one of my dearest friends from high school the other day and it instantly reminded me of how fortunate I am to have Jenn as my life long friend.

(I could go on and on about how amazing and lovely this woman is)

Take the time to write to those on your mind and heart, it’s just one of those little things.

"You should be kissed every day, every hour, every minute-The Lucky One"
– I think my heart just melted.

Perspective

I’m running off of 3 hours of sleep and it’s only Monday…but then I remind myself that no matter how crazy the next few weeks are about to get, the best reward is being in Europe for the first time when it’s all over.

Adventure Awaits. Cheers!

"Unless it’s mad, passionate, extraordinary love, it’s a waste of your time. There are too many mediocre things in life, love should not be one of them"

To My Sister

In the spirit of sibling appreciation day, this one’s for you, Jess. :)

To the people who transform our lives and give meaning to why relationships are the core of our hearts, my words give no justice to how my twin sister, (my woman!) has brightened my life.

You are the most loyal person I’ve ever known; the kind of best friend you can depend on for anything at any time, any circumstance. You inspire me to be determined and not stop at any challenge. It’s not possible to stay mad at you because you bring me too much joy. And even though I will be geographically away from you next year and we won’t be able to have as many spontaneous weekends together, my happiness for you exceeds my own plans. I am so excited for the next chapter of your life in a beautiful new city with all new adventures! You deserve the best opportunities and your consistent work ethic as not gone unnoticed. I’m so proud of you and cannot wait to see what else is ahead of us.

Lots of love, always.
